This is real, humorous, and once again, a flash. With my run-on sentences, 200-400 word notes and comments, articles that tend to go all over the place ADHD style I can only marvel and think, "Could I do that?" If I ever do I will Submit it to you first too. Another little gem!
Now, having read your writing Dan I actually think the preciseness of it is one of its strong points. Your novel is episodic with really dozens of very short stories. You could take a lot of those out of the whole thing and they could stand up as flash fiction without too many changes.
I often feel flash fiction is a lazy approach to writing but online it probably has a more important place than in the past.
I watched a ‘couple’ and this conversation came to me.

PS If I have a little time somewhere, like a waiting room or longer on public transport I look around and see what stories I can see and write them quickly. They can be bad, and I will publish them all, bad and good eventually on here, but they are fun to do. It makes you feel you’ve been productive in a dull moment.

I actually have posted at least on of the “typewriter” rants here, quite a while ago however.The poet Gary Snyder once recommended writing down the fragments of conversation you hear and remember when you are out and about, as soon as you get the chance. Yes you get some magic moments when people walk past and what they say out of context if ridiculous but gets the imagination fired up.
